MBA’s 2018 NYC Mid-Year Showcase

The annual Max Borges Agency media showcase in New York City is an event both clients and media look forward to. This year our agency took a new approach, hosting the event for two days, each in a different location. The first day, the event was Downtown in the iconic One World Trade building, while day two took place in Midtown, near the famous Hearst tower. Adding an additional day and location made it exponentially more convenient for media to stop by, and therefore, gained our client’s additional exposure.

The MBA NYC mid-year preview this year showcased 30+ brands, 50+ products, and was the perfect place for lifestyle, tech, and national news media outlets to come together and check out the latest consumer tech available for their timely Q3 and Q4 stories – especially for their all-important holiday gift guides.

Our event is an exclusive, invite-only event for the most sought after, high quality media. We hosted more than 100 top tier journalists from the most coveted outlets, across a variety of vertical markets. Attendees included editors from The Verge, Mashable, Engadget, CNET, Forbes, Good Housekeeping, Men’s Journal, Marie Claire, Newsweek, New York Times, Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Cosmopolitan, Popular Science, VOGUE, Esquire and more.

Media received hands-on demos from our attentive staff and a first look at products that we’re launching later in the year. Media always want to be the first to know what’s new, what’s next, and any time they can get a sneak peek at products that aren’t on the market yet, they get really excited! With smart homes getting smarter and tech getting incorporated into more areas of our lives, media are always eager to see what’s new in that space. Any time technology intersects with convenience, it tends to be a home run!

As an added touch after the show, our team follows up with media who requested additional information and samples. This is to ensure they have everything they need in order for our event exposure to turn into a story feature down the line. Additionally, we send both attendees and those who could not make it a digital booklet of everything that was showcased, so as they go through the year, they always have a handy book of the latest gear we rep at their disposal. This adds tremendous value and keeps those products showcased top of mind for future story opportunities.
